The S.S.B.A. All Americans/Team Rawlings (formerly known as the South Shore Bulldogs) is a travel team that was established in 2004/2005. In its short existence, it has earned a combined six League and Tournament titles. The organization began with one team and has since expanded to nine. Teams range in age from 13-18; this year the organization is proud to include its first 13-year old softball team. All of the organization’s teams play in competitive leagues and travel primarily in the Northeast. Players are hand picked by coaches and the professional staff to form elite teams. The greatest advantage of S.S.B.A. teams is that they work closely with professional instructors Steve and Mike throughout the year. Each team receives on-field training before games during the fall season; during both the fall and summer seasons the professional staff attends games to actually see players in game-day situations. The teams also attend a 10-week winter workout program to fine tune their baseball skills and to work on speed and agility with PEAK Performance Co. in preparation for the spring season. Most players on the All Americans take one-on-one lessons at S.S.B.A.’s facility and do ultimately reap the benefits on the field. |
